After presenting at eComm on The Potential of Distributed Networks (slides), I chose to stay a few more days in order to explore the bay area and determine whether Starfish can find a good foundation here. Being privileged to be in the company of Crowdscanner and staying at the Hackerdojo Treehouse, I had the chance to meet many interesting people within just a few days. In Silicon Valley, amazing weather, diversity and material abundance meets technological expertise. While being under the protection of an artificially constructed, one-seasoned world can lead to inconsiderate behaviour, people understanding the interrelationships between ethics, consciousness and technology are also to be found. My goal is to work with such individuals and communities in order to enable the creation of Starfish networks everywhere. The bay area seems like a great place to pursue this endeavour.
